Studio Lourdes Brings Intimate, Luxe Mountain Energy to FoundRae Aspen

Step inside FoundRae’s symbolic universe at its new Aspen store, where Studio Lourdes translates the brand’s tactile language into an immersive retail experience. The jewelry brand, founded in 2015, creates modern heirlooms for self-discovery and self-expression. Its first boutique opened in New York’s SoHo neighborhood in 2018. Since then, each store has taken on its own expression—from a vine-covered brick facade in Melrose Place to glass windows in Palm Beach that flood the triangular showroom with sunlight.

FoundRae’s Aspen doors opened in January, drawing inspiration from the mountains. The space invites visitors to browse and explore, outfitted with earthy tones and materials like leather, brass, marble, and wood to create a library aesthetic that’s elevated yet cozy.

While each FoundRae location is distinct, they all share a refined, collected, artisanal quality, explains Christina Magrans, founder of Studio Lourdes. Storytelling anchors FoundRae jewelry, which features mythological and classical symbols. Founder Beth Hutchens aligns these concepts with the tenets that appear across the stores and in the jewelry itself.

Christina notes that libraries relate to FoundRae as a brand. The Aspen store concept, “Classic Library Reimagined,” was conceived to support a slower, more intimate kind of discovery. “The layout encourages clients to move through the space in a way that feels personal and exploratory, with layered displays, varied fixture types, and moments that invite direct interaction with the jewelry,” Christina explains.

These interactions include displays of drawers and cases, plus more intentional experiential areas like the hospitality bar and booth seating. The interiors spark discovery and reflection, an atmosphere where clients can engage, ask questions, and form a personal connection with the jewelry. Handcrafted elements were considered at every touchpoint, with visible symbolism. Clients are immersed in FoundRae’s lexicon in a way that feels tactile.

A custom marquetry wall displays the tenet cards, which introduce the meaning behind the symbols and help guide clients through FoundRae’s symbolic universe. This connection between the jewelry and the space shows up in symbolism imprinted on the hand-blown glass sconces, a leather wall, and the green leather banquettes.

“Those recurring details came from a desire to create a space that felt deeply crafted, emotionally resonant, and true to both FoundRae’s visual language and the Aspen setting,” Christina says. “The goal was to create an environment that feels less like traditional retail and more like entering the FoundRae world.”
