Palm Beach has never been shy about glamour. But Mar Bar is giving those in town a fresh excuse to dress up, stay out late, and order just one more. Designed by Holly Nixon, founder of NXN Studio, Mar Bar is the kind of place that feels instantly iconic, like it’s always been part of the social rhythm, even though it still has that deliciously new sparkle.
“There’s definitely a classic Palm Beach language, and I have a lot of respect for it,” Holly says, “but Palm Beach also isn’t one singular style. My approach always starts with context—how the space will be used, who it’s for, and what story it’s meant to tell. I’m also interested in gently challenging expectations by layering in moments of the unexpected, discovery, or quiet fun where it makes sense. Those subtle contrasts are often what give a space personality and keep it from feeling predictable.”
From the moment you step inside, it’s clear this isn’t your average watering hole. The space strikes a perfect balance between coastal ease and polished sophistication. Think: Palm Beach chic with a wink. It’s elegant without being stuffy, playful without trying too hard.
The design tells a story of relaxed luxury. Whether you’ve popped in for a pre-dinner cocktail or accidentally found yourself closing the place down, warm textures, inviting curves, and thoughtful details create a room that encourages lingering. Every corner feels intentional, but never precious. It’s the kind of space where you notice something new at every visit, from the glow of the lighting to the way the bar subtly steals the show.
Holly’s signature touch is all over Mar Bar: confident, layered, and effortlessly cool. She has a talent for creating interiors that feel both aspirational and approachable, and Mar Bar is no exception. It doesn’t ask you to behave differently. It simply elevates the moment you’re already having.
Ultimately, Mar Bar isn’t just about great drinks or great design—though it delivers on both. It’s about the atmosphere. “I’m especially excited about how this project allows for strong storytelling and a sense of place, where design goes beyond aesthetics to support how people actually live, gather, and move through a space,” Holly says.
Holly believes it’s about that Palm Beach magic where style meets sunshine and conversations stretch longer than planned. In a town full of beautiful people and places, Mar Bar manages to stand out and feel like a future classic.
So go ahead: Get another round. Mar Bar was designed for exactly that.
