Isn’t it Iconic? B+N Builds on a Classic

Conventional wisdom says it’s best not to mess with something iconic. But B+N Industries does it anyway. The brand is evolving its popular Iconic Panels wall-cladding line with two new collections: Architects and Hypernature. A California-based manufacturer well known for its proprietary systems, including architectural panels, modular systems, custom shelving, and cladding, B+N continually innovates. And building upon a classic is always a good idea.

With patterns named Eero, Frank, Norman, and Zah, the Architects Collection nods to the masters who changed the way we think about form. Sculptural and graphic, each design translates the signature geometries from these world-renowned architects into dimensional carved reliefs.

“From the geometric stabilities of Sir Norman Foster to the biomorphic grace of Zaha Hadid, to the timeless sweeping lines of Eero Saarinen, and the scribbles of Frank Gehry, The Architects Collection is our way of saying thank you to the great minds that have influenced us over the years,” explains Kevin Shultis, design director, B+N Industries.

Where the Architects Collection draws inspiration from the built world, Hypernature turns to nature. Patterns named Tree Rings, Agate, Coral, and Willow reimagine familiar organic forms into bold, textured wall reliefs that feel both recognizable and fresh.

“By using computer-driven algorithms to reinterpret the concentric lines of tree rings, the layers of sliced stone, the interwoven geometry of sea coral, and the branches of a willow tree, we have expanded the minutia of the natural world into a collection of hyper-sized, hyper-natural wall-hung panels,” Kevin notes. The result: expressive, large-scale wall panels that blend biophilic inspiration with a distinctly contemporary point of view.

Crafted with a carved wood core and wrapped in durable formed laminate, Architects and Hypernature (like all Iconic Panels) are designed for aesthetic appeal, functionality, and lasting durability. These panels come in a variety of finish options, like simple matte white, warm walnut, and unexpected olive gold. What’s more, Iconic Panels can integrate with B+N’s Puck and System 1224 systems—meaning B+N shelving and accessories can be mounted directly onto the panel surfaces. What’s easier than that!

The Architects and Hypernature collections are the latest proof point in B+N’s design-forward, client-driven approach to commercial interiors—and they arrive at a pivotal moment for the brand. In October 2025, like-minded manufacturer Momentum Textiles and Wallcoverings acquired B+N, uniting two companies with shared values around design, craftsmanship, and performance. As a result, products like Iconic Panels now sit within Momentum's powerhouse portfolio, expanding their reach while maintaining B+N’s signature systems-driven approach.

“This combination strengthens and scales our ability to serve commercial, retail, financial services, hospitality, and institutional markets—while continuing to support clients with the same trusted team,” says Joel Katterhagen, president of B+N Industries.

Together, the new collections and the Momentum acquisition underscore a shared commitment to thoughtful systems, material innovation, and design solutions built for the realities of today’s commercial interiors.
